The morning of May 23rd, 1934 marked the end of the line for two of the most
notorious criminals in the annals of American history. Bonnie 
Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow met their maker on a rural roadside in Bienville Parish, Louisiana as a posse of six lawmen relentlessly unloaded their firearms into the duo’s stolen Ford V8. Since that fateful day the legend of Bonnie and Clyde still resonates as a tale of crime entangled in a “ride or die” love that many would say has never been matched.
“When The Lights Go Down,” by Two From Five, provides a unique perspective into the story and journey of these two gangsters. It accomplishes something that perhaps no other song about Bonnie & Clyde has…it makes no mention of the infamous duo by name. To those who may not know the history of this criminal couple, the song may simply convey a love story amidst an unconventional life. But to those who are familiar, the dust quickly settles at the beginning of the second verse.
